Ethrad - I fail to see where you are making a point. Suck it up; buttercup (and I mean this in a joking way) - Just know that I understand where you are coming from but I also know that this whole change is not to get rid of people...I had something to say and if you didn't like it - you could have passed by the blog...but instead you fed in to the allure of discussions. I fail to see where you think I am calling you out - did I say - Ethrad is whining and blah blah blah. I used a whole lot of descriptive text to say: Hey quit yer bitchin' - whomever is out there bitchin'.

I am coming off a week's hospital stay and this is the thanks I get for trying to see Steve's side and advocate for all of the reasoning behind the changes.....Oh no - I think I am developing a martyr complex....CRAP - I think I will just be the Queen of Crankponts Island and say "let them eat cupcakes".

Yes, this is why they call me crankyponts. I know why I called people pathetically selfish because GUESS what - and not that I am complaining because I did it out of the kindness of my heart- I paid for 2 years subscription as soon as I saw Steve's blog about the changes. Hence - I see all sides of this which, I do not normally get involved with petty nonsense because I have bigger fish to fry. You are right - and I think Steve is re-thinking his assertion that these changes are coming down the pike. The majority of the site has been free for the most part UNLESS you are a VIP member, then to have access to 18+ images, personal email through redhedd.com, and unlimited photo storage.

I can completely understand all opinions in this matter. I suppose my words seem like a witch hunt but that was not my intention in posting this. I was merely making an assertion that it seems ridiculous for people to complain about .07 cents a day!

I can't speak for Steve but the server is getting overloaded and its small....so he needs some revamping and it won't come free.  Rappy - you are on to something here but the paying for unlimited photo storage and email usage is already being charged.

Hey, let's have a bake sale? I think there is a GREAT need for a brainstorming session as how to reduce costs and increase Steve's revenue without making redhedd a completely pay for access site. Perhaps we are all on a tangent and missed Steve's true message. I suggest we bombard him with our enthusiasm to assist him......I have and will do so later because right now I am sitting her shirtless and getting ready for my day - saw the message flag to say I had a comment and well, here I am in all my Eunice glory.

I feel people are looking solely at the tree (payment for services) and not the forest (a more cohesive smoothly running redhedd.com).  Many have missed the opportunity to assist. I suppose I am one that likes to help as opposed to hinder - in other words if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. I do not think that this is teenaged speak - this is a person who likes to help and if I need to tell people that they are selfish and not thinking with their whole brain - then so beit.  And yes, of course, in all of the words I used to accurately describe the scenario you would have to pick out the last statement I make. 

So, I tell you come on now, I assume you are kidding around but really - I do not feel your statement should have warranted a response from me - BUT I give it anyway. You are right - online sites would be a very expensive habit if every social networking site were pay as you go.

There are solutions to this issue but let's brainstorm on it and then present our ideas to Steve or present them to him as we go along.....

Post them here for now and I will begin a new blog a little later to brainstorm ideas. Of course, this is not an absolute to say that Steve will now forego his decisions. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh... I just want my friends not to leave - its as simple and as complicated as that. I think this lull in activity will soon dissipate and Steve might not have to charge anymore. YIKES! -< Change stinks but we all have to accept it and transition - I suppose...>

anyway, i see both sides of view, but there is always a compromise so everyone can be happy. and lets be fair, i pay for my internet connection and dont expect to have to pay to access my favourite sites, otherwise going on the net will become a very expensive habit (other than dating, porn, and rupert murdoch sites, who else charges its users?). Steve cant afford the server space, thats fair enough, but why not limit access to the site and have people pay for such things as email and photo storage but still allow all users to converse via their message board on their profile page. oh and sell more items in the gift shop! there are plenty of talented users on here that would happily give designs for free

I mean - I always have change at the bottom of my purse...at the end of the day. Crikes- andI don't have time for this crappy argument any more - I have bigger projects to pursue. Yes, well - let me tell ya a story; I am good at story telling. There was this girl named EUNICE; she is a single mother with two mouths to feed little boy eunice and little girl eunice. Satan the ex from hell who is supposed to pay child support is not paying Eunice for the care and support of their children. AND YET - i found it in my pocketbook to pay the site subscription fees because I am not a TAKER - I am a GIVER....and the people who are complaining are the TAKERS of this world and perhaps they should TAKE leave of the site. There are other people in this world who would gladly pay top dollar to participate in such camaraderie.

I think you are not looking at the BIG picture and you are fighting for the side that has no concept of the vision that started this site. I am not here because I want to talk til I am blue in the face to a person who wants me as eye candy and eye candy alone. I am here to show every facet of my being to people. I like the fact that I can sign on at any moment of the day and interact with different people every time. So, people do not have the money to spare.....Instead of bitching about it - ever think that maybe Steve in his generous heart would work out a payment arrangement with ya?

I'm sure no one has thought of that. Seriously - I'm sure the squeaky wheel will get the grease but have you ever heard the analogy - "NO TICKY, NO WASHY"? Well, it is a story of person who takes advantage one too many times of the laundry person who always washes their clothes. whereas the laundry person usually gives the washed clothing to the TAKER, without asking for a thing in return. Suddenly one day the laundry person has a horrible day and quits. The TAKER comes in at the usual time - and expects hi/her clothing to be completely clean, proceeds to ask the NEW and improved launder person for his clothing; the new guy on the block explains that the former launder person was wrong to give him his clothing for no apparent reason other than to do so. The TAKER hems and haws about his laundry. The "new" person says "HEY. read the sign NO TICKY NO WASHY"!

Moral of the story - ain't nothing in life for free; if you want your laundry done then please by all means remember to pay for them and get your ticket because before you know it there will be a new and improved launder person coming in that will insist on payment for his/her labor.

How hard is it to comprehend that behind the scenes of redhedd.com is a person who is devoted to his vision and his vision is to unify the redhedds of this world. He has accomplished a GREAT task over the course of 2 years - and it was all for free - and out of the kindness of his heart. Now, new and improved redhedd.com will gladly take your ticky and if you do not have a ticky - then it will be NO WASHY for you!

viva and morgan! Thanks for responding to my post. I was on a rampage last night after reading a couple of ridiculous blogs attacking Steve's decision. Though the intent of Steve's reasoning may seem unclear to most and it seems almost unfair - the fact of the matter is the only way in which Steve will make money is if people begin clicking on the advertisement links and if nobody is - then Steve's business is generating more outflow cash than inflow cash. Not to mention the amount of traffic on his little server is causing the site to crash and the server would need someone to maintain a constant vigil over it. I mean, I could go on for days about this but I will sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment of folks bickering and making asses of themselves over 0.069 cents/day.  As I read it, I believe the people complaining are only looking at the 25.00 amount and not seeing the forest through the trees. The 25.00 being the trees and the forest being the reality of the 0.069 cents per day. Another reality (or forest) is that Steve has a family to clothe, feed, and provide for and if he is not generating the appropriate amount inbound cashflow - his life's bank account will not be abundant and redhedd might have to shut their server down forever.

So, would these people prefer to continue to enjoy redhedd or would they much rather prefer the site be  shut down forever??
