In fact, the Republic of Ireland had a player in the NBA. Pat Burke (from Dublin) played for the Orlando Magic in 2002-03 and for the Phoenix Suns from 2005-06 to 2006-07. Unfortunately, no other native-born Irishman has ever played in the NBA!
