I have psoriatic arthritis and  i was wondering if any of you might have any suggestions or tips. i hate being in the public because the psoriasis has spread on about 90% of my face people stare and treat me as if I'm contagious or something . I feel like im not good enough for anyone but that is the way i have allwalys felt because of the way my step father treated me .so i spend most of the time alone.

so if anyone has any advice i would like it  thanks

that's tough 'jib.

my mum, who is not redheaded but very fair-skinned, had rosacia (sp?) on her face a few years back.

more she worried about it, worse it got.

us redheaded niggaz is sensitive, c'est la redheaded vie.

I wish I could say something uplifting, but when something hurts it just ???ing hurts. and the only thing you can do is grit your teeth and rage on. until it's over.

godspeed man.

Be strong dude.!!

Don't let a look by other people demolish your being..  people are probably looking  because they are curious.. Someone someday will ask you what has happened.. If you can bring humour into the situation by showing it off you will find people accept things as it shows that you are comforatable (if thats the right word to use)

Can I recommend some cannabis cakes for the pain..

Stay strong!  you have our support..!

What sort of treatment are you using right now?  Have you consulted a doctor? Some people have found that changing their diets, lowering the amount of fat, can help. You really should talk to your doctor and see what he or she can suggest.  There are lots of herbal remedies as well, you can find alot of info on the internet too.  There is a psoriasis foundation that may offer you some insight into alternate treatments too. Keep digging, keep asking questions. Good luck!

I'm so sorry! The pain must be awful if even plain water burns.

I'm going to jump on the "buck up little camper" wagon, and reiterate that you always have us to bitch and moan to. Many say that no one can make you feel bad without your permission. Well, yeah, in a perfect world and for people with perfect, healthy, 100% balanced self esteem. But in reality, people CAN make you feel bad against your own will. Just keep in mind that you've never met these people, and so you don't have to respect them or give a shyte what they think.

Just try to keep your head up, and maybe try what Eunice said. If you're not comfortable verbally confronting people, maybe just make eye contact and either smile or wave and see what happens.

Also, maybe some of this will help (if you've already explored/tried these sites, please forgive the duplication):

I hope some of that helps! Please keep the faith that things will get better. Nothing lasts forever; not the good or the bad!

I know someone that has a small case of this. But he's was only in his scalp and he had a shampoo he would use when it would flare up and it helped.  But it will come and it goe. This is copied and pasted from somewhere else but it may help you. So here it is.

While there's nothing you can do to prevent yourself from getting psoriasis, you can take measures that will reduce the chances of having a flare-up. Always make sure to keep your skin moist, since dry weather can make psoriasis worse. Don't pick at your skin and be careful to avoid cuts and bruises because injuries can cause your psoriasis to flare. Although it hasn't been proven, many people believe that stress can make their psoriasis worse, so do what you can to relax.

 Hope this helps you some.

I have a friend and a neighbor that have psorasis and I know that stress does not help! But yes I have to agree with all of what Sinsin said! It doesn't make you any different of a person...remember that! If people are staring it is most like because they are curious. But I understand where it is frustrating! Good luck my friend! I know that you have the support of all of us here at redhedd!! Great group of people we are!!!

Good luck!
