Living it up!
Posted On 09/26/2008 13:32:23

Last time I wrote a blog about myself and I mentioned that I had an allergic reaction to something on half my face. I went to the dermatologist and he wasn’t exactly sure what it was since it affected only half my face. He prescribed a crème and it was gone by the 2nd day. Yay!

Time flies and the end of 2008 is getting near. We have three more months and it’s over. This has been the worse year ever for me but I’m going to try my best to end it well.

Bad things continue to happen to me but I’m learning not to extend my feelings on that matter. I am human so it’s okay to feel it in the moment. But holding it in for a long period of time won’t help. So once I get bad news I’ll just feel it in the moment and the next day let it go. I will figure out how to prevent it from happening again and how I can fix the problem. I’m tired of walking around with a dark cloud over my head. I’ve come to realize that shiznit happens all the time (in my case it’s never ending) and I know I’m not the only with problems. I know people in worse situations than I am. Nothing works out the way you planned and with time everything changes.

So I’m in my journey in search of happiness. Luckily I know what that is for me. I just need to get thereJ. I will make sure to have some fun along the way …All work and no play can make you go crazy, right?

So here’s what I’ve done and what I’m going to do so far …

I went to a Billy Idol concert in August and it rocked.

I went to see New Kids on the Block with friends and that was just exciting.

I’m going to my friend’s wedding this Saturday. She’s been with her fiancée for 10 years!

I’m going to see a laser light show in October at the Museum of Natural History with a friend. (Something I always wanted to do)

I’m going to see Evie Evil perform at Otto’s Shrunken Head.

I bought a ticket to see Eagles of Death Metal in November at Bowery Ballroom.

Now, the trick is that I have to remind myself of everything that I said here whenever shiznit hits the fan.

Got My Ticket for Eagles of Death Metal
Posted On 09/26/2008 12:50:55

Woooo hooo! ...I bought my ticket to see Eagles of Death Metal on Monday, November 17th, at the Bowery Ballroom. It would be another adventure for me since I will be going. I hope to leave my shyness at home and to see them really close. Last show I went to see them I was able to be in the front. I was touching the stage :-D.

Here’s their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/eaglesofdeathmetal

Last year I went to my first Queens of the Stone Age concert alone. I've been trying to see them for 5 years and last year I was able to see them live. I had an awesome time. It was awkward at first because I went alone. I'll be honest that at times I did feel alone but I still had a blast and they were freakin’ awesome. I hope they come to NYC again.

Concert: New Kids on the Block
Posted On 09/25/2008 01:34:35

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! … I can’t stop screaming. I feel like I’m still at the New Kids on the Block concert. My friends and I had a blast!

Who would have predicted that New Kids on the Block would reunite? My friend and I went to see them last night at the Izod Center (formerly known as Meadowlands) in East Rutherford, NJ.

It was funny when we arrived at the event because we were expecting to see a handful of men but I was able to count about 40 men. I’m sure there were more. You can see that many of them were dragged by their loved ones. I’m sure they took the opportunity to trash talk when they used the men’s room. But not all men were dragged in to see NKOTB.

The concert kicked off with a young R&B singer, Colby O’ Donis. He performed a couple of songs with good energy.

Natasha Bedingflied came on with her powerful voice. She gave a great performance and obviously sung her popular songs. It was sweet when she sang a song called “Angel” which she dedicated to her mom. Unfortunately, there was one woman sitting next to me “hatin’” hard core on Natasha Bedingfield. The stranger always had something negative to say when Natasha spoke.

The show kicked off with a compilation video of NKTOB. Jon, Jordan, Danny, Donnie and Joe came out and rocked the house. There was never a dull moment. I couldn’t believe that it’s been 15 years since their last public performance. My, how time flies and oh my, they have grown!

They performed their classics such as, You Got It (The Right Stuff), Please Don’t Go Girl/ Cover Girl, Step by Step … etc.

Jordan and Joey did great as lead vocals. Joey sounded powerful singing “Please Don’t Go Girl”. Jordan hit high notes for “I’ll Be Loving You Forever” which blew my mind.
Donnie Wahlberg kept the crowd going with his charm while making all the women (and some men) melt into their seats. He knew it! I’m sure he loved it!

They also performed some songs off their new album, “The Block” which were pretty catchy. The music sounded great. Makes me want to buy the album … which I will ... when I’m not so broke ... AHHHH!

Oh, the dancing! … Donnie surprised everyone with some break dancing. Dancing in a way I can only do in my dreams … lol. Or maybe I should just try harder … if my plan is to end up in a hospital!

Jordan did a great number to Timbaland’s “Bounce” when he sang his solo hit “Give it to You”. I can’t forget to mention how Jordan opened up his shirt revealing a ripped body. Boy! Did he come prepared for the show! He made me blush … LOL.

Overall it was a great performance. I only wish I can live that night again. Here’s a set-list of all the songs they performed at the concert.

I’m just making up for loss time. I never got the chance to go to a concert when I was little.

Hey, this is someone who went to a Billy Idol concert on August 26th which was amazing. He sounded so strong live. The man still got it!

Set list: Single/My Favorite Girl/You Got It (The Right Stuff)/Medley: Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind)-Valentine Girl-Please Don’t Go Girl/Grown Man/If You Go Away/Dirty Dancing/2 in the Morning/Tonight/Twisted/Baby I Believe in You/Give it to You/Stay the Same/Cover Girl/I’ll Be Loving You (Forever)/Click Click Click/Summertime/Step By Step/Hangin’ Tough-We Will Rock You

Should People Get Involved?
Posted On 09/14/2008 19:07:03

Should people get involved?

I’ve noticed recently that there’s a lot of news about people getting hurt and no one help.

Here are a couple of examples and all of these events have been recorded by surveillance cameras.

A muscular tall man was standing against the double doors with his son. He told his son to sit on the seat to his right. The man reaches into his bag and pulls out a hammer. He begins to hit on an innocent teenage boy who was sitting to his left. No one in the train did anything and the man continued to hit this boy. The man has mental issues. Someone called the police after all of this happened.

A man was crossing the street and he was hit by a car. The car continued to drive and the pedestrians just looked at the man. No one went to his aide. A couple of minutes later some people called the police.

An elderly man was in a parking lot trying to get to his car and a man started beating him to rob him. There were others in the parking lot but no one did anything to stop the man.

Should people get involved when an innocent person is getting beat up? (We’re not talking about guns being involved.) Or should you just look the other way?

How safe we really are if we’re in a crowd but when in danger, the crowd looks the other way?

I remember in Junior High School a teacher told me that she had to defend herself and she did it with a pencil. She was at a train station at night at there was a man that tried to violate her. The MTA worker in the both just hid and other people did nothing. She was able to take out a pencil and stabbed him on the thigh with it. That’s how she was able to make her escape.

So are we really on our own? Can we really depend on people for safety?

Side Taker
Posted On 09/14/2008 18:34:30

I received an e-mail from a friend about a site called Side Taker. (www.sidetaker.com)

What the heck is it?

http://sidetaker.com/ is a site where you can anonymously post about arguments you and your bf/gf are having and people will say whose fault it is.

This seems interesting since the advice you’ll be received from strangers can be unbiased (not saying that all will be but probably the majority).

Sometimes “friends” tend to agree with you all the time. The reason why I put the word friends in quotation marks is because a friend would tell you the truth and not what you want to hear. Right?

Would I do it? … Well, I definitely can’t do it now because I’m single. Would I do it in the future? Most likely not. By then I would forget about this site.

Would you use this site? What do you think of it.

It's been a while ...
Posted On 09/10/2008 21:32:13

I haven't been on here for a bit. Just alot of stuff have been going on in my life and in my head. Most recent? ...

Well, half my face is a bit red, itchy, and swollen. I went to the doctor yesterday and doesn't know exactly what it is but it sounds like it could be allergies.I haven't done anything different and it's weird that the left half of my face is affected. The doctor prescribed Zyrte, told me to get my blood tested, and to go to the dermotologist. I'm doing that Friday. So much fun!

I did learn that Michael Phelp filmed a commercial this morning and an episode of Fringe was filmed at my job. The only thing I knew about filming is a Pierce Brosnan movie.

Hmmm, what else? ... Oh yeah! ... I was able to do a head stand at dance rehearsal. The leader of the group wants us to learn how to do some nice poses while doing head stands ... like break dancers ... oh yeah, this is going to be fun and painful!

I miss this place!
