Jury Decision

Okay,
First off I want to THANK EVERYONE that voted for me in the polls. It was totally unexpected to see my name there, I did not expect to be nominated at all!

However,

If I am asked to be apart of the 'jury' should I accept?

I have my concerns, as just recently, it has come to my attention that if I were to take part in a 'jury', deciding whether one stays, goes, comes back, or what ever else the dilemma that is brought into the 'jury'; that I may be the target for other persons frustration, resulting in possibly a hate campaign towards me or indeed other members of the 'jury'.
I have been recently asked whether 'I would be up for 'it'. It is a good question, as it has made me think do I really want to put myself in this situation.
I am someone that enjoys life and wants to continue to enjoy life to the full, to me thats what life is about, that's why you will not find me associating myself in bitching or any kind of negativity, I do not feel comfortable playing that game, life is too short!!
That being said I don't like the idea of letting other people down that have nominated and voted for me.

But these three questions remain:


1. If I accept this position, are people going to act differently towards me?
2. Are people going to hate me because of a decision made in the 'jury'?
3. Am I going to be a target for hate ?

So, I thought I should share this with you, what are your thoughts on it? Positive feed back would be great.

Lizzie this site trusts you that is why you got enough votes to be a part of the five. Everyone on here believes you can do this. I believe you can. Everyone that is a part of the five are trusted. Don't worry you will do a great job. I believe in you

In response to your questions; it is likely that people will treat you differently or they may treat you the same. Steer clear of people who belittle your ambitions.

 

Now, why in the heck would a person hate you because of a decision made wholly or in part by the jury? More importantly, why would you care? I think that if you surround yourself with people who are supportive of you, you might not have to worry about such things. If a person is banned because of their decision to do something that is inappropriate the responsibility should not lie on your shoulders and if they have the intellect to realize their mistake then they will not blame you.

You will not be a target for hate. Do you think Steve is a target for hate? I don't think so. I think that if you feel good about being on this jury then do it. If you doubt your ability or think that you will be this target for hate then maybe you should think long and hard before saying yes to the nomination. This is not a power weilding position just a chance to make the voting on or off of a member a democratic process.

 

I think you would be good for the job. Go with your gut, it's all you can do. :)

I would certainly not treat you any differently, Lizzie.

Though, as you say, some people may do so. The reasoning I would put to you is this, as a juror, you will have a broader perspective on how a society (and yes this is a society) operates, Therefore you know that any decision you make will be the right decision to make.

I know it will be tough at first, you will feel that some on here may treat you differently, that is their problem not yours, remember, they voted you on in the first place.

Speaking personally, Lizzie. I feel you will be a n excellent Juror (and I'm sure littlered will back me up on this) so be easy.

With authority comes responsibility and certainly a change in the way some people will treat you.

I can totally see where you are coming from Lizzie. I don't know if I have any answers to your questions, but I know that I would not treat you any differently!
