Ok, this was too cool to save for later.
But first off, there was a really pretty woman with wonderful red hair (I'm a little young for her though
) and she was the first natural redhead I saw in Ireland - working the ticket booth at the Cliffs of Moher. I commented on her hair, she did likewise, I mentioned being at Roodharigendag with 2,000+ reds, she asked for the website and I wrote it on the back of one of my redhedd.com business cards.
Booyah! Spreading the word.
But here's the cool part. Just walking back to my hotel, right? Not the best of the best parts of Dublin. Guy yells out to me from a pub door, I'm skeptical, but he's a close shaved strawberry blonde, just reaching out to another red. He says, "1% of us, you know? Did you know there's a website for us?" So I yank out one of Steve's full color cards, "this one?" to a laugh from him. "So, what's you name on here?" Yank out my own CelticCurls card.
Nice guy, Wayne, I think (very nice but thick accent). Got introduced to his girlfriend and everyone around before returning to my walk back here.
My stacks of reserve cards are still pretty thick, and I'm still kicking myself for forgetting my redhedd.com t-shirts that I specifically washed that night, but at least it's a little help.
So tomorrow I'll try taking the DART to Newgrange, see the Book of Kells, eat lunch at the oldest pub in Dublin - Brazenhead, and with any luck, Niamh and her friends will take me to a Temple Bar pub (I was there tonight, saw a great group of buskers - bought the CD - but just ate Cantonese Duck because I didn't feel like shoving my way into a bar especially with none I could find playing anything traditional).
BTW, thanks again for birthday wishes and all, I'll reply to all of you eventually.
