Stem Cell Research
Should medical research involving the use of human stem cells be
permitted? Should clinical treatments that utilise these cloned cells
be allowed? Here's my take; A lot of people argue that using stem cells is killing a potential child. An embryonic human looks like this: 
Is that really a human being capable of feeling? I doubt it. More over, if you go by that theory, then every time a woman has her period, her body is disposing of and killing dozens of potential babies. The only reason I would be against stem cell research is that the world is way too over-populated as it is, and we really don't need to get to the point where every disease becomes curable. Disease and death is mother nature's crowd control.

Embryonic stem cells can become ANY KIND of cell; adult stem cells are only what they are, and will not change, is why they have focused on the embryonic. I agree, that the embryo is NOT a "person" as of yet, and I do think that there are major advances to be made in stem cell research. You do make a good point, though, Hills, about overpopulation. However, I will say that if I ever got MS or one of those horrible debilitating diseases, I might just want me some stem cells. Unless I wasn't having fun in life, then I'd call Dr. K...

Life at the moment of conception!!! Adult stem cells. I am all for curing, for helping whoever we can. Life is life .......if you are 90 or the moment of conception. Its not mother nature that we are dealing with its our on destruction.

The potential benefits to people suffering with lifelong disabling conditions far outweigh any pseudo-ethical debate about when is a cell a living feeling thing and when is it just a cell.
