Gambling and Casinos
Should gambling be banned or severely restricted? Or should casinos be encouraged? All I'm saying is its fine for the government to profit off of deadly addictions like cigarettes and alcohol. Maybe the reason there's such a controversy over gambling is because Native Americans profit from it.

gambling is like any other form of entertainment: if abused, it can be destructive. I don't know statistics, but I'm inclinded to think that alcohol ruins more lives than poker. gambling of all types should be legalized (especially internet gambling) and regulated. Banning it just drives it underground where players are more susceptible to the abuse of shady operators. I've never liked gambling. I'vve been in casinos like twice. And as soon as I blew my $80 I was bored. It's probably more fun if you know what you're doing. :) But online sloits seem fun in a video-gamey for money kind of way. The world will never be free from gambling. Unless desire itself is somehow rooted out of our psyches. Prohibiting gambling is going to be about as succesful as Prohibition was. cheers.

I only go to the casino for the all you can eat crab legs. Then I put a 20 in the nickle machine and go home. Sometimes I win most times I don't.

Well there are a lot of casinos around our area.
I have seen a LOT of lives ruined because of gamnbling habits.
I have mixed thoughts about whether it should be Legalized or not.
I go to the casino, spend my $25 that I take in with me and then I leave. Sometimes I win and sometimes I don't.
I can see how it would become VERY addicitve though. I think that is why I go in with my cash, I don't bring any extra money when I go to the casino so that I am not tempted. I think that I could easily become addicted, but that is just me.
I think there should be restrictions. I don't think there should be ATM machines in casinos and they shouldn't except a check or credit card either. That only makes it easier to get more money when you have spent what you have.
That's my opinion.

The Ponca Indian tribe in north west Ne. bought some land in Carter lake Ia. Carter Lake is a small sliver of Iowa on the Nebraska side of the river sourounded by Omaha.
This tribe said that they wanted to build a medical center there. (why in Carter lake when the tribe lives 150 miles away is beyond me.). Anyway, after the sale of the land plans for the med center were scrapped and plans for a casino were made.
They claim they have every right to do with their land they want. Fine by me. Why the suddin change? My guess is the casinos In Council Bluffs Ia. (across the river) are making a killing and they want a piece of the action. Again, thats fine by me.
Why did'nt they just say they wanted a casino in the first place?
